They have been identifying three people from the jailed MPs of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP): Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput are reported free from the hospital now. They had been convalescing from the injuries received in the accident which took place in the Parliament house. They are now both healthy and expressed appreciation to supporters.
The Incident in Parliament
An incident of pushing and shoving took place on December 19, 2024, about the entry at Makar Dwar of the new Parliament complex in New Delhi. According to the source, the incident pitted BJP and Congress lawmakers and was occasioned by demonstrations concerning perceived insults to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
In the fight Pratap Sarangi received a cut over his brow. Mukesh Rajput himself faced some major problems and was unconscious for a while because of high blood pressure.
Immediate Medical Attention
Both MPs were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital for treatment immediately. The forehead of Sarangi was operated on and stitches were given, whereas Rajput’s blood pressure was normalised under medical attention.
Medical teams kept an eye on their conditions for some days to ascertain that all had recovered.
Discharged and Doing Well
Sarangi and Rajput were discharged from hospital on December 23, 2024. Sarangi also told the media he had recovered well. Rajput also thanked the medical team for their quick response.
MPs who have been in the hospital both thanked their colleagues and well wishers for their support during their time there.
